The Board is a society registered under the Registration of Societies Act, 1860. It
works under the aegis and control of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions,
Department of Personnel & Training. Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training is the
ex-officio President of the Board. In addition, the Board has 8 members out of which
Secretary/Joint Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Secretary/Joint Secretary,
Department of Culture, Financial Advisor (Home), Joint Secretary (AT&T) and
Director/Chief Welfare Officer, Department of Personnel & Training are the ex-officio
Members. The other members of the Board are nominated by the President of the Board.
The names of the Members as on 01.06.2014 of the Board are given in(Annexure-XLI).
3. ACTIVITIES
a. An important area of activity of the Board is to organize various sports events. Inter-
Ministry tournaments in 20 disciplines. The eligibility criteria for participation in inter-
Ministry Tournament is given in (Annexure-XLII).
b. The Board organizes All India Civil Services (AICS) Tournaments / Competition/ Meets
in the following sports events jointly with state/UT Governments/RSBs:-
1. Athletics 10. Music & Dance
2. Badminton 11. Kabaddi
3. Basketball 12. Power lifting
4. Bridge 13. Weightlifting & Best Physique
5. Carrom 14. Swimming
6. Chess 15. Table Tennis
7. Cricket 16. Tennis
8. Football 17. Volleyball
9. Cricket 18. Wrestling
19. Hockey
(Veterans) 20. Shooting Ball
18. The Board also conducts regular coaching in Cricket and Lawn Tennis for the
children/dependents of Government employees at Vinay Marg Sports Complex, New Delhi.
Coaching in Lawn Tennis is also available at Bharti Nagar and R.K. Puram Sector-13, New
Delhi. Board organizes Summer Coaching Camps in Basketball, Cricket, Football and Lawn
Tennis for children/dependents of government employees.
