MAJOR INITIATIVES TAKEN :
(A) Opening of New Kendriya Bhandar Retail Stores :
As a result of proactive efforts by the management of Kendriya Bhandar new grocery
consumer retail stores have been opened at the following locations:-
(i) Tilak Lane (Behind Patiala House Courts)
(ii) P&T Colony – Sarojini Nagar
(iii) IP University Complex, Dwarka .
Earlier, in the year 2013, Kendriya Bhandar opened a grocery/consumer retail store
in Rashtrapati Bhawan. Further Kendriya Bhandar has opened the second
grocery/consumer retail store in the residential colony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
(B) Computerization of pay rolls, financial accounting, stationery billing and accounting
has been undertaken. Computerized pay slips and reports are generated now. A
significant number of Kendriya Bhandar grocery/consumer retail stores are computerized
and connected to the Head Office through internet.
(C) Training : Kendriya Bhandar has taken the lead in setting up a training lounge within
the office premises itself and training is being conducted for the staff from time to time.
(D) Several welfare measures have been taken to improve the efficiency and morale of
the employees, pay scales of the employees have been revised and improved with effect
from 01.07.2012. Kendriya Bhandar has framed its own recruitment rules and promotions
are given to the employees based on their experience and qualification as per recruitment
rules. Merit promotion scheme has also been introduced.
(E) Sales Promotion Scheme is available for the shareholders. Every year,
shareholders and employees participate in the sales promotion scheme and receive a gift
on purchase of grocery/consumer items of a specified value.
(F) Kendriya Bhandar’s Contribution in J&K Relief Measures :
Kendriya Bhandar had received an order for supply of food packets from the office of
the Special Commissioner (Relief Coordination), Jammu for supply of 20,000 Nos. of food
packets for providing relief to the victims of floods in the year 2014. Various
Grocery/Consumer items like sugar (1kg packets), pulses (1kg packs), rice (5kg packets),
Soya Chunks, match box, candle boxes etc. were successfully packed in a water-proof
pack ( total about 10 kg each ) in a very short time and these were supplied to the J&K
Government, which has been appreciated by the J&K Govt.
